PPTC Meeting Notes 9/14/05 Meeting called to order at 7:03pm. In attendance: Kathy Cronwall, Barbara Gistand, Jean Mufty, Pat Eppard, Chelsea Azar, Neha Kakade, Janet Levine, Armand Leonetti, David Pellegrini, Eleanor & Peter Chroman, Lisa Gentry, Ami Torino, Gladys Kong, Jim Edwards, Robin Forbes, Sara Lerschen, Rich Sherman, Jill Williams, Lisa Wallace, Cathy Zen, Elizabeth Peek, Ray Gandinier, Juanette Clark, Karen Drumm, Sharon Pipkins The mission statement was read as follows: The objectives of the PPTC are to assist Palomares School in its endeavors, both educationally and financially, to support and follow the processes and procedures of the school and the school district, and to promote goodwill among the families, staff and school community. Board introductions were made. Jim Fitzpatrick spoke about Measure B, the "Just for Kids" Bond measure on the ballot for the Nov. 8th special election. * Upgrade security for campuses * Construction to include seismic retrofits as well as meet needs of the expanding population * Refurbish play fields Phone bank volunteering 9/27, 10/17 6-8pm Goals for reorganizing PPTC: * Funds accountability * Operate more efficiently and effectively * Focus on committees to carry out the work of the club * Committees with binders explaining what is expected Treasurer's Report: Watershed Coordinator grant expired. Funds to be raised to cover this and subsequent years. Technology upgrades Library books Fine Arts Programs Fundraising: Bookfair realized $940 in cash for the school as well as all the books the teacher's requested and books for the library Membership dues and donations totaled $640 Principals report: Construction of lunch room scheduled to complete late October Technology Com. - David Pellegrini informed us that the website is being upgraded, minutes & guides available online. Health & Safety - Jim Edwards will check emergency kits and update any supplies needed. Evaluation of emergency plan. Room Parent - Jean Mufty will hold a parent room meeting as soon as room parents for 2nd & 5th are found. Fine Arts - Gladys Kong spoke about the Music for Minors program for which she and Christine Clement are attending instructional classes. Hospitality - needs more people to sign up to bring snack to meetings/events Announcements: * October 11th next meeting at 7pm * Parent leadership & volunteer workshops available through the Adult School * Friday, 9/16 at 12pm volunteer meeting in library * Fundraiser, Bulb sale starts 9/16 - profits of 40% to school
